Before
buying cleaning and waxing products, know what type
of floor you're maintaining. If you can't determine
it at a glance, ask your flooring expert.
Dust-mopping or
vaccuuming floors on a daily basis gets rid of the fine
grit that grinds the shine off both waxed and no-wax
floor coverings. In the long run, you are putting off
the day of a major cleaning.
Dust mops pick up
more dirt than brooms and are especially suited to the
smooth, glassy finishes used on wood and no-wax floors.
To make the work go faster, buy a commercial 18 inch
dust mop at a janitorial supply store.
An oiled dust mop
ruins a waxed surface. Use a dry mop or if the room
itself is very dry, one slightly dampened with water.
